Falling Asleep in America

We met Peter at CODEX and soon after began to make custom sheets for his next artist book. Falling Asleep in America is an Allen Ginsberg poem about travel in the United States; we thus created sheets from various local plants and travel related ephemera.

Falling Asleep in America won the Premi ArtsLibris at the 2024 ArtsLibris International Book Arts Fair. It is now in the Bank Sabadell’s permanent collection.

The papers that Pam and Shotwell Paper Mill created for my artists’ book were fantastic and enabled me to faithfully realize my project’s concept. Pam was also very willing to brainstorm with me about different papers and offered various creative solutions to different issues along the way.”
