Soul Tree Forest | Deanna Van Buren

Deanna Van Buren is an architect and activist who was one of the YBCA 10 in 2022.  The YBCA 10 refers to a  a group of ten Bay Area artists selected by the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts for a year-long program aimed at creating new work focused on community health and well-being.  Her piece titled Soul Tree Forest invited participants to interact with a forest constructed of trees with seed paper orbs that visitors could take and plant.  We worked with Deanna to produce six different seed paper orbs using recycled and foraged materials.
