Bespoke Stationery

Lisa is an old friend and when she turned 50 we wanted to make something special to commemorate this milestone birthday.  We reached out to her friends in family and had them send us fabric items that we combined with the pampas grass leaves that grew in front of her San Francisco home.  She keeps many orchids in her home so we commissioned wasabi press to create an orchid Lino block which we used to letterpress print these notecards.  We presented her with 50 cards and envelopes.

For my 50th birthday I received the most meaningful gift: custom stationary made by my friend Pam DeLuco, an artist whose work is as personal as it is beautiful.  She collected fabric and other ephemera from my friends and family, and plants from my home, and pulped it into the most beautiful paper that she turned into personalized cards.  They were letterpress printed with an orchid, one of my favorite flowers, and small type on the back of the card designating this paper a “boo blend” after my last name.  I reserve it only for my most special notes. Her process is layered with intention, memory, and artistry in a way that most people don’t realize until they hold the finished piece.
